Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Crushing all competition during the NHL regular season with a first place finish that witnessed the club earn 64 points, the Toronto Maple Leafs received a bye to the Stanley Cup semifinals in 1934-35. After defeating Boston, the Leafs met the Montreal Maroons in the Stanley Cup finals. This desirable Buckingham Hockey Parade Maple Leafs booklet has been team-signed by the 1934-35 Stanley Cup finalist Leafs (13), along with a few Chicago Black Hawks (3). At approx 5" x 7 1/2", most of the players have signed their respective profile page in pencil (the reverse of each page is listed) including Dick Irvin (purple pencil) / Frank Finnigan signing the reverse title page), George Hainsworth / Hap Day, King Clancy / Alex Levinsky (unsigned), Red Horner / Busher Jackson, Charlie Conacher / Joe Primeau, Ace Bailey (ink) / Conn Smythe (unsigned), Andy Blair / Heck Kilrea (unsigned), Bill Thoms / Ken Doraty (unsigned) and Buzz Boll / Charlie Sands (unsigned). Red Horner (2nd signature) has also signed the cover, with Paul Thompson, Johnnie Gottselig, Pep Kelly, Busher Jackson (2nd signature) and Doc Romnes signing the reverse of the cover. The Majority of the signatures present especially well for the age, and we should note that the book could be disassembled as most of the signatures appear on pages individually. The book itself shows heavier wear to the spine, held together by some threading, with most of the interior pages showing just light toning. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
