Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The first season behind the bench for King Clancy, the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1953-54 would be led by captain Ted Kennedy, with the Blue and White finishing a respectable 3rd during the regular season. We have a stick team-signed by the 1953-54 Toronto Maple Leafs. A full-size Doug Laurie model stick originally sold by the MLG resident supplier, stamps appear over each side of the shaft, with a pair of intact striping accents. 19 dark pencil signatures have all been placed over one side of the shaft, including deceased HOFers Tim Horton, Harry Lumley, Harry Watson, Fernie Flaman, Teeder Kennedy and coach King Clancy, along with fellow HOFers George Armstrong and Leo Boivin.
Other signers include Tod Sloan, Sid Smith, Jim Thomson, Ron Stewart, Eric Nesterenko, Rudy Migay, Jim Morrison, Bob Bailey, Gord Hannigan, Danny Lewicki and Hugh Bolton. The majority of the signatures remain bold, with the Horton example especially dark. If you’ve been searching for a superior Horton signature from the height of his career, this is it.
