Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Special jersey from the personal collection of Tomas Sandstrom is the All-Star forward’s 1987 Rendez-Vous NHL All-Stars game-worn jersey with the two-game series patch sewn on the upper right sleeve. The New York Rangers star played in the first game of the two-game set against the Soviet national team at the old Quebec Colisee on February 11, 1987. Sandstrom injured his ankle late in the first period of the NHL All-Stars’ 4-3 win and was unable to play the second game, a 5-3 loss to the Soviets two days later. Maska flag tag remains in the neck and the jersey measures out to approximately 52. Best of obviously light game wear is a mark low on the left sleeve with a small board burn and a small material snag near the mark. There is some light pilling inside the jersey noticeable on the lower orange stripe and some fraying/pilling to the edges of the fight strap. This cool keepsake from a one-of-a-kind all-star game of elite international hockey comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
