Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
Soon to embark on his thirteenth NHL season, Tomas Plekanec has spent his career completely in Montreal, with his best season to date in 2009-10 where he finished with 70 points in 82 games. We have a Canadiens jersey that was worn by the Czech star in 2013-14. CCM size tagging is affixed to the collar including handwritten “3”, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the famous partially-embroidered CH team crest, the “Away Set 3” V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Plekanec” across the nameplate in single blue twill. The team patch sits on the inside hem, while a hologram numbered “GU11141” has been affixed to the reverse “4”, with a matching LOA from the Canadiens to accompany.
We should also note the customization of the sleeves, with velcro added within the cuffs. Game-wear on the garment includes a few large marks beneath the team crest with additional examples over each sleeve, with some light paint transfer just above the left elbow and near the armpit.
