Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Skilled enough to join the NHL directly out of high school, goaltender Tom Barrasso started his career in Buffalo but spent the majority in Pittsburgh, where he earned a pair of consecutive Stanley Cup championships with Mario Lemieux and company in 1991 and 1992. From shortly after those impressive Cup wins, we have a signed stick used by the Massachusetts native circa 1992 to 1994. A Sher-Wood PMP 530 model with "Handcrafted Exclusively for Tom Barrasso 35" factory graphics, the original black tape remains on the blade and white-over-black on the knob with "35" handwritten (a few strands of the now-yellowing white tape are loose and frayed on the knob). The stick shows light to moderate game-use with wear to the taped blade and a few marks to the paddle and shaft, with some red paint transfer to the shaft. Barrasso has signed the upper paddle in black marker, with a personalization added to the near perfect signature.
