Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
The ESPY Awards; short for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, and often referred to as the "ESPYs", is an annual awards show brought to you by ESPN beginning in 1993. Honouring both individual and team athletic accomplishments and achievements, we have an ESPY award that was presented to Boston Bruins' star netminder Tim Thomas in 2011 in the category of "Best Championship Performance". Thomas led the Beantowners to a Stanley Cup championship in 2011 while winning the Vezina Trophy and Conn Smythe as playoffs MVP. He was the first goaltender to win the Stanley Cup, Vezina, and Conn Smythe trophies in the same season since Bernie Parent in 1974–75. Standing a majestic 17" with mounted sphere over a sliming pedestal base, a plaque affixed to the bottom of the base has an ESPY logo with "2011" along with "Best Championship Performance Tim Thomas". The letters "ESPY" are also sunken into each side of the pedestal throughout the majority of it's length. The underside has brown felt affixed. Condition is excellent, with a few scratches visible and minor handling wear. This prestigious trophy is highly desirable, as very few ESPY awards come to market. From his personal collection, a signed LOA from Tim Thomas will accompany.
