Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Spending the majority of his career in Massachusetts with the Bruins, Tim Thomas also saw action with Florida in 40 regular-season games in 2013-14, followed by 9 games with the Dallas Stars which included a single playoff match to conclude his time in the world’s fastest league. Originally drafted 217th overall by the Quebec Nordiques at the 1994 NHL Entry Draft and leading the Bruins to a Stanley Cup championship in 2011, offered here, we present this pair of pads worn by Thomas during the 2011-12 season, his last with the Bruins. Vaughn made V4 model pillows in a black and white colourway, "Thomas" is embroidered in black thread into the outside of each pad, which also has had "Vaughn" spelt out in single layer black leather letters. Also sporting "Vaughn" and "V4" logos printed over the outside rolls and upper faces of both pads, the pair displays excellent game-use throughout their entirety including puck marks over the face, inside and outside areas, light sweat staining to the white nylon areas of the leg channel, small amounts of dye transfers, a small/shallow cut over the upper part of the left pad, red coloured post paint transfers over the boot straps of both pads, some minor material fraying and other marks thoughout. Retaining all the straps and buckles and hailing directly from his personal collection, Thomas' signed LOA will accompany the lot.
Regarding the photo-match, the pads are matched with Getty Image #140176320 (February 25th, 2012 vs Ottawa) to various puck marks seen over the face of both pads.
