The son of noted turn of the century netminder Bert Lindsay, the first goaltender to win a game in the NHL, Ted Lindsay began climbing the hockey ranks himself with a season with the Holy Name Juvenile Hockey Team at age 16 in 1941-42 before his time with the Kirkland Lake Lakers and Toronto St Michael’s Majors. This cabinet photo featuring a teenage Terrible Ted with the 1941-42 Holy Name Juvenile Hockey Team “All Ontario Champions” hails from his personal collection. At 8” x 10” and affixed to a 12” x 14” mount, the full team and management are pictured including Lindsay over the bottom left, with each player listed on the mount at the base. The photographer Morris Duke’s name is stamped to the lower right, with the image clean and minor wear to the mount including pinholes over the upper corners and bottom center, and a bit of damage to the upper right corner. A few names are also handwritten on the reverse near some staining. An LOA from the Lindsay family will accompany.
