Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This impressive collection of 48 single-signed pucks commemorates the historic 1972
Canada-Russia Summit Series, the first-ever best-on-best international hockey showdown
between Canada’s top NHL professionals and the Soviet Union’s elite team. This series marked
a turning point in hockey history, bridging the gap between two dominant hockey powers and
forever changing the way the game was played on a global scale.
The collection of pucks features 32 signed pucks from Team Canada players, coaches, and
staff, and 16 signed pucks from Team CCCP players. Each puck is signed in silver ink, with bold
and well-preserved signatures throughout. Each puck is accompanied by a Certificate of
Authenticity (COA) with the Bobby Orr puck including a GNR COA, while most others are certified
by A.J. Sports World and JLB Sport Rarities.
The Team Canada-signed pucks include autographs from players such as Ed Johnston, Bobby Orr, Brad Park, Ron Ellis, Phil Esposito, Rod Gilbert, Dennis Hull, Vic Hadfield, Yvan Cournoyer, Wayne Cashman, Red Berenson, Rod Seiling, Bill White, Jean Ratelle, Paul Henderson, Pete Mahovlich, J.P. Parise, Serge Savard, Mickey Redmond, Guy Lapointe, Don Awrey, Bobby Clarke, Dale Tallon, Gilbert Perreault, Marcel Dionne, Tony Esposito, Jocelyn Guevremont and Brian Glennie. Also included are signatures from agent Alan Eagleson, coaches Harry Sinden and John Ferguson, and trainer Joe Sgro.
The Team CCCP-signed pucks feature autographs from Soviet hockey greats including Alexander Gusev, Vladimir Lutchenko, Viktor Kuzkin, Valery Vasiliev, Yuri Blinov, Alexander Maltsev, Yevgeny Zimin, Boris Mikhailov, Alexander Yakushev, Vladimir Shadrin, Vladislav Tretiak, Vyacheslav Anisin, Yuri
Lebedev, Yuri Liapkin, Alexander Martynyuk and Alexander Volchkov.
All pucks and signatures remain in excellent condition, little to no smudging or imperfections.
