Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Playing seven (7) of his sixteen (16) years in the National Hockey League with his hometown team, the Montreal Canadiens, Stephane Quintal would post 115 points in 507 games played with the famed bleu, blanc et rouge over two (2) separate stints with the club. Serving as the NHL's senior vice president of player safety from 2014 to 2016, offered here is this Canadiens jersey worn by Quintal during the 1996-97 season. Made by CCM and featuring both size "56" and "Goalie Style" labels affixed to the inner collar, both the NHL shield and CCM emblems have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Canadiens team crest that has been administered in a layered tackle twill style, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Quintal's number "5" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals, "Quintal" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior and accompanied by a Canadiens LOA signed by Rejean Houle, the jersey shows just light wear via board burns over both sleeves (including one on the right sleeve that resulted in a small cut/hole) and board burns over the left sleeve near the cuff. Additionally, there is also some pilling on the interior.
