Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
His most penalized season on Long Island, Stefan Persson still managed 43 points in 70 games during the regular season in 1981-82, with an additional 16 points in just 13 playoff games which helped lead the Islanders to the club's third consecutive championship. The star Swede contributed single assists in Game 1, Game 3 and Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals along with a pair of assists in Game 2. The team marked the accomplishment in style with this stunning diamond and gold ring that originates from the personal collection of Stefan Persson. Size 9 with an aaprox weight of 31 grams, three big diamonds are stacked on top of each other on the ring’s face with the biggest one in the middle, and "Stanley Cup Champions 1982" in raised and slanted letters surrounding the diamonds. A raised image of the Islanders logo in white gold is on the right shank along with “Persson” and his number "7". The ring’s left shank has “Islanders” in raised letters and three Stanley Cups with each championship year on it, the 1982 Cup presented in white gold, with a nod to the team’s Prince of Wales conference championship at the bottom. “First American Team” and three tiny images of the Stanley Cup are engraved on the interior of the band along with “Balfour 10K”. The ring shows proud wear, with a number of small dings along the edges and scratches to the band and shanks that do not diminish its display. The original Balfour box is included, and it shows wear to both the lid and interior. A signed LOA from Stefan Persson will accompany this Stanley Cup treasure.
