Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The 1984-85 Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds set an unbeatable record when they finished the Ontario Hockey League’s regular season with a perfect 33-0 record at home! With Bob Probert and Jeff Beukeboom and OHL rookie of the year Derek King in the lineup, the Greyhounds won all 33 home games while going 54-11-1 overall to lead the league with 109 points. They capped off their spectacular season by winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL playoff champions and going on to represent the league at the Memorial Cup, where they lost in the semi-final. These Robertson Cup OHL championship rings were presented to members of the Greyhounds. This one was given to a scout with the last name “Currie” as indicated on one shank. The “33-0” record at “home” is commemorated on the other shank. The size 9 ring has an approximate weight of 20 grams. The Greyhounds logo appears in white on the face of the red stone in the tableau encircled by “Ontario Hockey League Champions” in raised letters on the bezel.
