Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
A member of the NHL's All-Rookie Team in 2005-06 for his standout inaugural campaign where he scored 102 points, Sidney Crosby would elevate his status considerably the following season. Scoring his career-high 120 points while winning the Art Ross, Hart Memorial, Ted Lindsay and Mark Messier Leadership Award, Sid the Kid also earned selection to the NHL First All-Star team in 2006-07.
This signed stick was issued to the superstar circa 2005-07, and it hails from the personal collection of legendary Flyers announcer Lou Nolan. A Sher-Wood Momentum Comp model with inserted Sher-Wood 1050 blade, “Crosby 87” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft along with “110 Flex”, with the original white spiral tape pattern over the handle with “87” handwritten. Crosby has added a thick silver ink signature to the frontside blade and it displays beautifully. "11.10.07" (November 10, 2007) is handwritten on the underside of the shaft near the blade stem, with this the date of the game when the Penguins played the Flyers in Philadelphia. It is most likely the date Lou Nolan received this stick. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Lou Nolan has been a fixture with the Flyers since the team’s inception in 1967,
starting as a press box assistant before becoming the team’s public address announcer in
1972—a role he’s held ever since. For over five decades, he has been calling plays for Flyers
hockey, his voice guiding us through some of the franchise’s most iconic moments. This of
course includes their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. These sticks,
personally gifted to Nolan by some of the NHL’s biggest legends, reflect the relationships he’s
built over his storied career and the trust and admiration he’s earned within the NHL community.
