Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Superb trio of Sidney Crosby signed framed photos features framed displays from the 2008 Winter Classic and from two different stages of Sid the Kid’s career at Pittsburgh’s current arena, one as the Consol Energy Center and the other display as PPG Paints Arena.
The Crosby Penguins 2008 Winter Classic display is mounted in a 21 ¼” x 17” frame. It comes with a Frameworth COA and displays a spectacular 8x10 color photo of Sid the Kid celebrating his shootout-winning goal at the inaugural outdoor Winter Classic in Buffalo that he has signed in bold blue marker. Though it does not diminish its display, the photo has rotated slightly clockwise within the matte, such that the photo’s white border shows in the bottom right of the gold-colored accent on the inner edge of the black matte. “Sidney Crosby, Winter Classic, January 1, 2008” is etched beneath an etched image of the Buffalo Bills’ stadium in an inset at the bottom of the frame, and a Penguins pin is displayed above the photo at the top of the display. One of the corners of the frame has a chipped corner with a piece missing.
The Sidney Crosby Penguins Consol Energy Center framed display is mounted in a 21 ¼” x 17” and comes with a Frameworth COA. Sid signed in bold blue marker on the upper left of the 8x10 photo of him stickhandling with the puck in his black and gold Penguins uniform. “Sidney Crosby #87” is etched above an etched image of the exterior of the Consol Energy Center that is inset below the photo at the bottom of the black matte with recessed gold accent lines. A Penguins pin with a gold triangle is displayed above the photo at the top.
Sid has signed in bold blue marker on the right side of an 8x10 photo of him in his black and yellow Penguins uniform on his PPG Paints Arena framed display. Mounted in a 16” x 20” framed display with a Penguins pin with the yellow triangle at the top. “Sidney Crosby #87” is etched above an etched image of the exterior of PPG Paints Arena, with “Pittsburgh Penguins” also etched in the inset at the bottom of the black matte with recessed yellow accent lines. It comes with a Frameworth COA.
