Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Four real diamonds sit at the bottom of the bezel of this stunning 10-karat gold 1991 Canada Cup ring. The distinctive half-leaf logo on the tableau is encircled by the words "Coupe Canada Cup" on the rest of the bezel. “10K” assayer’s mark is stamped inside the size 10 band of this bauble which weighs approximately 21 grams. With the seldom-seen smooth-shank style that was presented to non-players, such as sportswriters who covered the historic event, this nicely preserved ring with light surface scratches on the back of the band recalls the final Canada Cup tournament, one which saw the United States ice its best team ever to that point and Canada reaffirm its dominance of international hockey, beating the U.S. 4-1 and 4-2 to sweep the finals. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
