Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Currently in 2nd place for all-time regular season NHL assists (1,249), 4th place for all-time NHL regular season games played (1,731) and 5th place for all-time regular season NHL points (1,798), Ron Francis was a four-time NHL All-Star during his HOF career with a pair of Stanley Cup hoisted and the Frank J. Selke, Lady Byng and King Clancy trophies all earned. Spending his final six seasons in Carolina (along with 24 regular season/playoff games with Toronto), Francis has his jersey retired by the franchise on January 28, 2006. From his first season in Raleigh, we offer a Hurricanes alternate captain's jersey worn by the Sault Ste. Marie native in 1998-99.
Made by Starter with labels to the collar and a "56-R" size tag with "21" handwritten in marker, Starter and NHL shield logos are embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated with a Hurricanes team crest that features embroidered details, "21" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with alternate crests to each shoulder (Francis wore #21 with Carolina in 1998-99 and 1999-2000). The alternate's "A" resides on the left breast, with "Francis" in single white twill letters to the nameplate. Game-use includes a number of material pulls and pilling throughout to both the interior and exterior, with a few small stains on the left sleeve. There are also team repairs, with 2 on the reverse, 2 on the left sleeve and 2 on the right, including a large 2" x 2" square clump. The fight strap is currently a light rose colour, a sure sign that the jersey was worn and washed numerous times as the red colour of the jersey has bled slightly into it. A screened team patch resides on the inside hem next to a Custom Crafted logo, with an LOA from MeiGray to accompany.
