Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
A deserving participant of three NHL All-Star games during his career, popular goaltender Rogatien Vachon wore this orange and black knit jersey in the 1973 game at New York's Madison Square Garden. Greg Polis of the Penguins scored a pair of goals and earned MVP honors as the East edged the West 5-4. A Gerry Cosby tag appears in the neck along with a washing instructions tag which has "50" added in ballpoint. Everything is sewn-on here including the big embroidered NHL crest on the front and "Vachon" across the back (no nameplate). Obvious game use with a few black pucks mark below the NHL crest and another beneath the star on the left breast. From the personal collection of Rogatien Vachon, complete with his signed letter of authenticity.
