Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
A gold medal winner at the 1998 Winter Olympics with his native Czech Republic, Robert Lang spent parts of 16 seasons in the NHL, including 5 with Pittsburgh. This Penguins third jersey was worn by Lang in 2001-02, where he finished with 50 points in 62 games. Made by Koho, both size "54" and "Made in Canada" labels are affixed to the inner collar with the latter displaying Lang's number "20" that has been penned in black marker, with a large Penguins Game Worn Authentic label placed above signed by equipment manager Steve Latin. Sporting a Koho logo crest over the reverse neckline, the NHL shield logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout, matching alternate logo patches have been added over both shoulders as well. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Langs's number "20" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Lang" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed nameplate. Game-use is nice, with numerous puck and stick marks visible to the white sections of the sleeves and over the lower left and right front (there is also some green paint transfer to the lower right front and reverse). A laminated LOA from the Penguins organization will accompany.
