Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Awesome purple mesh 1978-79 Los Angeles Kings road gamer was worn by defenseman Rick Hampton. Hampton spent the first four of his six NHL seasons with the ill-fated California Golden Seals and Cleveland Barons before joining a Kings lineup at the dawn of the famed Triple Crown line of Dave Taylor, Charlie Simmer and HOF centre Marcel Dionne. The original size 48 M. Goodman & Sons tagging remains sewn inside the rear hem though only the outline of the missing Vanderburg tag is visible along with a few thread remnants. There are four team repairs on the sleeves and more game wear shows in slashing black marks on the yellow knit front hem and sleeve inserts, and board burns and burn holes on the sleeves. Comes with LOA.
Magnificently detailed Kings crest is sewn on the front and surname letters and numbers are seewn on the jersey in yellow and white double twill. Heavy duty canvas and snap fight strap is sewn inside the back.
