An interesting and thought provoking offering comes available here, once worn by one of the most hard working players to suit up for the Montreal Canadiens during the 1970s and early-1980s in which he helped them to five (5) Stanley Cup championships, via this Habs jersey worn by Rejean Houle during his final season of 1982-83 which was recycled for and subsequently worn by Montreal's 1983 first (1st) round draft pick, Alfie Turcotte during the 1983-84 pre-season and training camp. A Maska made offering that features a partially detached brand label affixed to the inner collar, the piece measures out to between a size "46" and "48" and has had a Maska logo embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with Montreal's famed "CH" team crest in a layered tackle twill style, the sleeves and verso of the garment have been styled with Houle's number "15" in dual layer blue-over-red tackle twill numerals while a nameplate with "Turcotte" spelt across it in single layer blue twill letters is in place over the top of the reverse, covering up the evidence of the former "Houle" nameplate, with the evidence of its former existence still found on the interior in the form of a few loose threads. Of note, the jersey is able to be dated to the 1982-83 season based on the thicker style numbers that are found on the sleeves. Additionally, Turcotte is always listed as wearing the number "8" during his time with the Canadiens as Bobby Smith, acquired in October of 1983 from Minnesota, wore the number "15" for his entire tenure with the club and helping lead us to the realization that the jersey being offering is a 1983 pre-season example. Displaying with light game wear compared to most Montreal jerseys we handle from this era, the jersey shows evidence of use via wear to the edges of the front crest in the form of a few popped seams and frayed threads, team repairs and stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, coloured post and board paint transfer marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves and pilling on the interior. Retaining a sewn in garter style fight strap on the interior of the piece, the jersey comes with an LOA incorrectly stating that the jersey is from the 1984-85 campaign.
