Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

One of the NHL’s all-time premier defenceman, Ray Bourque spent over 20 seasons with the Boston Bruins, and was considered for the James Norris Trophy an amazing 11 times, winning 6. The HOFer was also named to 19 NHL All-Star teams. We have a great combo, with a stick used by the superstar in the mid-to-late-1990s, along with gloves that were donned circa 1996-99. The stick is a Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model, with “Bourque 77” factory graphics along with the original black tape over the blade and white over the handle and knob. The gloves were also produced by Sher-Wood, and are Platinum SP-5060 models in Bruins black with gold accents, with “77” embroidered over each wrist guard.
The stick also sports the original NHL decal, along with “Boston” stamped and faded over the lower shaft. Light to moderate use is exhibited, with wear to the underside of the blade and to the graphics along the shaft. The gloves also exhibit light to moderate use, with rubbing to the leather in spots and a few areas of surface loss, especially over the wrist guard on the right glove. We should also note that the graphics differ slightly on each glove along with the embroidered “77”, with these not a matched pair and were probably not used together. Each palm is also fairly clean, with the possibility that each glove has been re-palmed.
