Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
A product of the Charlottetown Islanders and Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL, Pierre-Olivier Joseph would be drafted 23rd overall by the Arizona Coyotes at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and has gone on to play nearly 150 games in the National Hockey League thus far in his career as of this writing, skating exclusively over that time with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Offered here, we present this Penguins "reverse retro" style jersey worn by Joseph during the 2020-21 season. Made by Adidas and based of Pittsburgh's uniforms from the 1997 season, a band displaying both "Made in Canada" and size "56" designations is affixed to the inner collar while crests of both the NHL and Adidas adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with "Pittsburgh" in individually applied tri-layer tackle twill letters that run diagonally from right-to-left, matching primary logo patches have been added atop of both shoulders. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Joseph's number "73" in dual layer black-over-yellow tackle twill numerals, "Joseph" has been spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting a Penguins "Reverse Retro" set team tag heat pressed inside the reverse hem, the jersey is accompanied by a Penguins COA and remains in overall excellent condition, with just a tiny board burn present over the left forearm. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #1300027288 (February 1st, 2021 vs New York) to the long loose yellow thread near the top of the "7" on the right sleeve.
