Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The Pittsburgh Penguins made it back-to-back Stanley Cup wins for the second time in team history when they defeated the Nashville Predators in six games in the 2017 final. Penguins forward Phil Kessel played a big role in the playoffs with eight goals and 23 points in 25 playoff games. His No. 81 Penguins jersey is photo-matched to the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals and it comes with a laminated COA and JerseyTRAK document listing the dates of the three games the jersey was worn in the finals, including Game 1 on May 29, 2017 and Game 2 on May 31, when Kessel had an assist, and finally in Game 5 on June 8, when Kessel had a goal and an assist. The photo match is from Game 5 on June 8, 2017 to Getty Images #693922850 which shows the loose white thread in the lower portion of the number "8" on the left sleeve, as well as the two loose white threads on the left edge of the team crest. Size 56 flag tag hangs in the neck of this beauty with several desirable patches, including the NHL 100 patch below the numbers on the right sleeve, the Penguins 50 years patch on the left shoulder and the 2017 Stanley Cup Final patch on the right breast. Two Penguins 2017 Stanley Cup Final team patches are sewn inside the rear hem, the larger one displaying serial No. PH#17SCF779B that corresponds to the one on the COA, and the 2017 Stanley Cup Final logo is screened onto the fight strap. There is a light board burn on the back of the right sleeve and a tiny black mark on the white stripe on the right sleeve.
