Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Few players combined skill, toughness, and vision quite like Peter Forsberg. A two-time Stanley
Cup champion and one of the most gifted playmakers the game has ever seen, Forsberg’s
blend of hockey IQ and physicality made him nearly unstoppable. He captured the Calder
Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie in 1995 and remains one of the greatest Swedish players to ever
lace up skates. Forsberg also claimed two Olympic gold medals with Sweden in 1994 and 2006,
solidifying his legacy on the international stage. After making a comeback to the NHL in 2005,
Forsberg’s 2006-07 season marked his second year with the Philadelphia Flyers and his first as
captain.
This Easton Synergy SE stick shows some light game wear. Forsberg’s original tape job is still
intact at the knob of the stick, and the blade is bare. “21 FORSBERG” found on the nameplate
of the shaft. Forsberg signed the stick in silver marker. The signature is beautifully placed at the
center of the forehand side of the blade, bold and well preserved.
Additionally, the date “2-10-07 ST.L” is written in black marker on the bottom of the backside of
the shaft, dating the stick to a Flyers victory over the St.Louis Blues, a game where Forberg
helped his club with an assist. This stick was likely deployed on this very game. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
These sticks come from the personal collection of Lou Nolan, the legendary voice of the
Philadelphia Flyers. Nolan has been a fixture with the Flyers since the team’s inception in 1967,
starting as a press box assistant before becoming the team’s public address announcer in
1972—a role he’s held ever since. For over five decades, he has been calling plays for Flyers
hockey, his voice guiding us through some of the franchise’s most iconic moments. This of
course includes their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. These sticks,
personally gifted to Nolan by some of the NHL’s biggest legends, reflect the relationships he’s
built over his storied career and the trust and admiration he’s earned within the NHL community.
