Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Two Olympic gold medals and two world championships with Sweden and two Stanley Cup wins with the Colorado Avalanche make Hall of Fame forward Peter Forsberg a “double member” of the rare Triple Gold Club. Forsberg has signed his Team World jersey from the 1998 NHL All-Star Game in Vancouver, one of five jerseys issued to him for the game, including the official photo shoot, pre-game warmup and each of the ASG’s three periods. Peter signed in silver paint pen on the “2” of his No. 21 on the back of the white Team World All-Stars jersey. The 1998 ASG patch is sewn on the right shoulder, the Avalanche logo patch is sewn on the left shoulder, and the Sweden flag patch is sewn on the right breast. Size 56 and CCM Made in Canada flag tags remain in the back of the neck. There is a small light blue mark on the white fabric behind the nameplate and the flag tags in the back of the jersey. CCM, NHLPA and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear hem. NHL inventory number “LIT 156” patch is sewn on the fight strap, indicating that it was one of the five ASG jerseys issued to Forsberg, and the jersey exhibits no noticeable signs of game wear. This jersey was acquired from a McDonald's Canada executive through the NHL's All-Star Game relationship with the "Ronald McDonald House Charities".
