Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
His second of five seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, Paul Masnick saw action in 15 games with the Habs in 1951-52, along with an additional 6 playoff contests. Originating from his personal collection, we have Masnick's 1951-52 Canadiens team photo. At just over 8" x 17", the full squad is pictured in the traditional on-ice pose including The Rocket (with black eye - with this occurring in Game 7 of the 1952 Stanley Cup semi-finals, with the contest immortalized by the famous photo of Richard posing with Bruins' goaltender Sugar Jim Henry at the conclusion), Doug Harvey, Butch Bouchard, Elmer Lach and Jacques Plante (Masnick is found in the second row, second from the left). There are four vertical fold lines to the photo, a few corner creases, and a tear to the bottom left corner. The reverse has a stamp from Montreal's Craig Street West (now Saint-Antoine) photographer Richard Arless Associates. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
