Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Beginning his climb to professional hockey with a pair of WCJHL seasons with the Regina Pats, Paul Masnick made his NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens in 1950-51, and saw action with the Habs in parts of five seasons. The Regina native then played eleven games with Chicago in 1954-55 followed by 41 games for Toronto in 1957-58. He would round out his career with a trio of seasons in the WHL followed by three in the IHL with St Paul beginning in 1960-61. Originating from his personal collection, we have Masnick's minor and pro memorabilia. Included, there is a WHL 1959 All-Star trophy (6 1/2") when he was with the Saskatoon Quakers, an O'Keefe Player of the Week mug dated April 12, 1952, from his time with Montreal (5", with heavy tarnishing), an original early-1950s La Presse Canadiens team photo with all the players in suits including Masnick and the Rocket (5" x 8"), five small modern prints of vintage images all signed, a 1950 The Standard newsprint magazine with Habs on the cover including Masnick, an 8" x 10" photo of 4 Habs with Frank Selke including Masnick and Jean Beliveau, a modern 8" x 10" print of four Leafs including Masnick and Tim Horton signed by Masnick, five different jacket patches including 1946-47 Balfour Tech collegiate hockey champs, BTS rugby and BTS baseball both from 1948-49 and two others, a large scrapbook with newspaper clippings from throughout Masnick's professional career, a 1983-84 Canadiens media guide and more.
