Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Featuring items from a trio of franchises that were all a part of the National Hockey League's "Original 6" golden era that lasted from 1942 to 1967, the likes of the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks have combined to win a total of sixteen (16) Stanley Cup championships over their respective histories, with the Bruins nearly passing the century mark while the Rangers and Blackhawks are not far behind. Offered here, we present this collection of memorabilia from the three (3) franchises that includes a group of sixteen (16) pucks signed by players from the Bruins and Rangers as well as an original brick that was part of Chicago Stadium. Starting with the pucks, totalling out to sixteen (16), all that have signed have done so over mostly souvenir model slugs made by InGlasCo that feature the various logos of either the Bruins or Rangers and in some cases player photos, with all of the pucks included in the lot have been signed in either silver or gold marker ink while some also include inscriptions as well. For the Bruins, examples are present for Bronco Horvath ("The Original Six" inscription), Bep Guidolin, Ed Sanford ("1947-1955" inscription), Kim Morrison ("#10" inscription), Andy Hebenton, Stan Johnathon ("17" and "The Fight 5/21/78" inscriptions), Bill Ezinicki ("#15" inscription) and Doug Mohns ("#19" inscription) while the Rangers pucks feature the signatures of players such as Dean Prentice ("#17" inscription), Red Sullivan ("#7" inscription), Muzz Patrick (photo puck), Clint Smith ("#10" and "Stanley Cup 1940" inscriptions), Lou Fontinato ("#8" inscription), Craig McTavish ("#14" and "94 Cup" inscriptions) and "Boom Boom" Geoffrion ("#5" inscription). With the signatures all displaying beautifully for the most part (some show the odd light/small smudge that is worth mentioning for accuracy) along with the pucks themselves (some show light handling/age wear), many of the pucks included are accompanied by matching COA's.
For the brick, hailing from the "Mad House on Madison" that was the home of the Chicago Blackhawks between 1929 and 1994, the venue was also home to numerous other notable events throughout its history as well. Reddish in colour for its effort and measuring roughly 8" x 2 1/4" x 4" for its effort, a gold coloured metal plaque has been affixed to one side of the piece, listing its historic particulars including the building's years of service. Ideal for display in any hockey collection, a COA for the brick will accompany the piece, along with a glass display case.
