Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

This 1967-68 Oakland Seals game jersey is an awesome example that dates from the team's inaugural season, when the first modern expansion doubled the NHL in size from six to 12 teams. Seals #31 white durene road jersey displays vibrant green and blue colors in the bands and on the numbers. Fabulous Oakland team crest on the front does not have any evidence of a change from the California Seals logo worn for the first month of the season, meaning that this jersey might have been done up during the season. The jersey's original green skate lace remains strung thru the eyelets of the tie-down neck. A "Size 46" flag sewn in the back of the neck is frayed along the bottom edge. The General Athletic tagging remains sewn inside the front tail. There is wear in the form of a puck mark on the left front, and stains, possibly dried blood, inside the jersey in the back of the neck, though number 31 is not attributed to any member of the Seals through their first few seasons. We should also note that the reverse numbers appear to have been re-positioned slightly lower on the jersey.
