Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The game of hockey dates back over a century. Before the NHL had 32 teams and players
making millions of dollars, there were the humble beginnings that laid the foundation for the
game we know and love today. These early years were filled with pioneering teams and athletes
whose legacy has shaped the sport’s rich history.
To commemorate that history, we have four old-school sweaters that replicate the uniforms worn
by some of hockey’s first teams. Included in the lot are jerseys from the New York Americans
(size medium), Winnipeg Victorias (size small) and St. Louis Eagles (size large), all teams that
played during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, helping to build the foundation of
professional hockey.
In the batch, we also have a Preston Rivulettes (size large) sweater as well. Established in
1931, the Rivulettes are one of Canada’s oldest and most storied women’s hockey teams. They
were dominant in the early years of women’s hockey, winning numerous championships and playing a key role in the development of women’s hockey in Canada. These sweaters are a nod to the early days of the game, where it all began before hockey became the global powerhouse it is today.
