Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
When the Leafs were mired in mediocrity and struggling to climb the standings, one of the
earliest sparks of optimism arrived in the form of a fiery center from London, Ontario—Nazem
Kadri. Drafted 7th overall in 2009, Kadri had just wrapped up back-to-back standout seasons in
the OHL, including a championship with the Kitchener Rangers. Known for his edge and vision,
Kadri gave Toronto fans something real to rally behind—a sign that the rebuild was starting to
take shape.
Worn during his rookie campaign, the jersey is accompanied by a team COA and the
original team store receipt. The jersey is a size 56, made by Reebok, with a Reebok crest sewn
onto the back neckline and the NHL shield on the front collar. Classic Maple Leaf shoulder
patches are found on both sides, while Kadri’s number 43 is done in bold blue single twill on
both sleeves and the back of the jersey.
Noticeable game use is present throughout. The front of the jersey shows several small stick
and puck marks concentrated along the lower portion. The right sleeve features faint puck and
stick marks, while the left sleeve displays a blue transfer mark near the cuff, a small adjacent
rip, and additional stick marks scattered down the arm. On the back, KADRI is stitched in
matching blue single twill over a white nameplate, which shows a small red mark just to the left
of the name. The fight strap is securely sewn inside the jersey, accompanied by an official team
patch inside the hem confirming its authenticity.
