This sensational original Rice Studios photo montage depicts the 1899-1900 Stanley Cup champions Montreal Shamrocks. The Shamrocks staged a successful Cup defense against Winnipeg in February before holding off Halifax's challenge the following month. This outstanding 16 ½” x 12" original studio print features Tansey, Scanlan, Farrell and McKenna flanking Trihey in individual oval portraits along the top, with full images of Wall and Brannen in uniform on each side, with Shamrocks executives also pictured. The bottom section features fantastic interior and exterior shots of the brand new Westmount Arena, along with hardware won including the coveted Stanley Cup. “Champions of Canada 1899-1900” also appears exposed beneath.
Surviving in very good condition overall with some discoloration at the very top and a horizontal band through the middle of the image to note, along with a small gash through the print and its backing above Trihey and Scanlan. There is also some light scuffing/creasing, with wear to the frame as well.
