Lot #763:
Montreal Forum White Single Seat Multi-Signed by 36 Past Canadiens Including HOFers Cournoyer, Lapointe, Savard, Houle, Gainey, Shutt, Laperriere, Robinson, Carbonneau, Mahovlich, Vachon and Bowman
Red, WHITE and blue! The color scheme of the seats at the old Montreal Forum reflected the Canadiens team colors as evidenced by this single white seat, which was removed from the famous arena after the final game was played, on March 11, 1996 and has been since signed by 36 past Canadiens legends including 12 HOFers. At approx 35” in height and sporting a full colour Habs logo over seat back’s upper right, the original number “21” remains stenciled in red, with decals added that state the number, row and section in French. All 36 have signed in three vertical rows in blue marker, including HOFers Cournoyer, Lapointe, Savard, Houle, Gainey, Shutt, Laperriere, Robinson, Carbonneau, Vachon, Mahovlich and Bowman, along with P. Mahovlich, Lambert, Rousseau, Mondou, Bonin, Bellows, Larose, Goyette, P. Bouchard, Talbot, Ramage, Tremblay, Muller, Napier, Awrey, Berenson, Naslund, Keane, Marshall and a few others. The signatures display well overall. The seat’s legs both sport embossed red Habs' logos with “1924-96”, with the original seat cushion intact and tear-free (there is a cut that does not go through the material). There is considerable wear along with areas of white paint to the silver metal sides, with a few dents to the underside of the seat.
