Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
The Montreal Canadiens would embark upon the ultimate NHL dynasty after finishing in first place at the conclusion of the 1955-56 season. Led by Jean Beliveau’s 88 points during the season, the Habs would easily slip past the Rangers in the playoffs before defeating Gordie Howe and the Detroit Red Wings in the Stanley Cup final - with this the first of five consecutive championships for the Bleu Blanc Rouge. We offer a group of three autograph pages framed together and team-signed by the 1955-56 Stanley Cup champion Canadiens. The two top sheets are 4 1/2" x 5 1/2", while the bottom left sheet is 4 1/4" x 4 1/2", with a postcard-sized team photo within the bottom right. The top left sheet has been signed by 7 including from top-to-bottom, Plante, Moore, Harvey, Blake, Mosdell, the Rocket and Bouchard. The top right sheet has been signed by 10 including from top-to-bottom, Geoffrion, Turner, Talbot, Marshall, Leclair, Provost, H. Richard, Beliveau, Curry and Olmstead. The bottom left sheet has been signed by two with St Laurent and Johnson. Each signature is executed in blue ballpoint, with the majority displaying well despite being somewhat bunched up. The display is framed to full dimensions of just under 15" x 16".
