This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
One of the original franchises added to the NHL expansion of 1967 that said farewell to the Original Six era, the Minnesota North Stars began life in the newly-formed Western Division, and would compete in the world’s best league for just over a quarter-century before relocating to Dallas. The club’s greatest success would be advancing to the Stanley Cup finals – twice, first, in 1980 vs New York, and again a decade later against the Penguins in 1990. A number of stars and Hall of Fame members would don the pointed “N” including Gump Worsley, Neal Broten and Dino Ciccarelli. This lot contains a comprehensive North Stars postcard collection ranging from the late-1960s to the early-1990s, with approx 575 postcards included, with over 120 signed. The breakdown for the postcards in the group is as follows. First, we have team postcards for 1972-73, 1977-78, 1978-79, 1979-80, 1980-81, followed by 8 late-1960s J.D. McCarthy postcards including 2 signed, with Parise (3, one signed), Goldsworthy, Boudrias (2, one signed) Vasco and Tom Reid. There are an additional 9 misc. items including small photos signed by Grant and Maniago.
