Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Playing his junior hockey as a member of the OHA's Hamilton Red Wings and Peterborough Petes, Mike Veisor would be drafted 45th overall by the Chicago Black Hawks at the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft. Going on to play a total of 139 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Chicago, Hartford and Winnipeg, offered here is this Hartford Whalers jersey worn by Veisor during the 1982-83 season. A mesh construction offering made by Sandow SK, the brand and washing instructions labels are missing from the inner collar and the Sandow SK logo is screened on over the reverse hem. Measuring out to roughly a size "52" for it effort and retaining a loop style fight strap on the interior, the jersey is decorated over the front with a Whalers team crest that has been administered in layered tackle twill style while matching "Pucky the Whale" alternate logo emblems have been added atop of both shoulders. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Veisor's number "31" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals, "Veisor" is spelt out in matching style letters that have been affixed directly to the material of the jersey at the top of the reverse. Displaying game-wear via puck marks over the front and both sleeves, red post paint transfer marks appear seen over the left elbow and reverse hem as well while spot staining and minor discoloration is seen throughout the body and sleeves as well. Of note, there is some damage/tears to the edges of the "3" on the left sleeve, to the front crest and to both Pucky the Whale crests.
