Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Can you say “three-peat?” The New York Islanders and their fans certainly could after the 1981-82 NHL regular season champions again came through in the ’82 playoffs, becoming the first U.S.-based team to claim the Stanley Cup for three consecutive years! Fifty-goal seasons from Bossy (68) and Trottier (50) as well as 30-plus goal campaigns from Gillies and Tonelli contributed greatly, with the Vancouver Canucks swept in the Stanley Cup final. This Stanley Cup championship trophy was presented to 1980 All-Star Mike McEwan for his status as a 1982 Stanley Cup champion. Standing a majestic 13” and mounted to a wooden base with green felt underside, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved in three rows beneath the team executives, with “New York Islanders” and “1981-82” engraved above. In gorgeous overall condition, displaying majestically, there is just some very light and minor surface wear in a few small areas. The original box with "Mike McEwan" label is included.
