Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The RPI Engineers claimed the NCAA hockey championship in 1984-85 with the likes of future Hall of Fame forward Adam Oates and future NHL All-Star goalie Darren Puppa leading the way. RPI defeated Providence 2-1 in the championship final at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena on March 30, 1985 to cap a 35-2-1 season under head coach Mike Addesa, who received this size 10 ring to commemorate the title. The ring weighs approximately 23 grams and displays zirconias set in the tableau, with one large one surrounded by eight smaller ones. “National Champions” is spelled out in raised letters on the outer bezel with “RPI 1985 Hockey” on the inner bezel. “NCAA/ECAC” and “Hockey Champions” are displayed on one shank while “Addesa” and “35-2-1” appear on the opposite shank. "HJ - ULT" (for Herff Jones) and "ULT" (for Ultrium) is stamped inside the band. A fantastic NCAA championship ring that remains in wonderful condition with a few scuffs/nicks to the band from proud wear.
