The first NHL All-Star Game to take place in Minnesota since 1972, the 2004 installment of the popular NHL showcase took place in St. Paul, with the Western Conference battling the Eastern in front of just under 20,000 jubilant fans. Despite a 6-4 victory for the Eastern Conference, Joe Sakic of the Western team garnered MVP honours, scoring a hat trick in the contest. This Eastern Conference jersey was worn by Martin St. Louis during the second period, and it’s been signed. Size tagging is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and NHLPA crests on the back bottom hem. “Eastern” appears in felt letters placed diagonally across the chest, with an NHL shield crest residing above the left breast. Accented with tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, the tie-neck garment also sports 10 felt stars, split evenly between the front and back lower band. The important 2004 All-Star Game patch is situated over the right shoulder, while a Lightning team crest is situated over the left. We should also note that the hem has been customized for St. Louis and shortened. With no discernible wear present, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. St. Louis has augmented the sweater with a beautiful signature that has been placed in the middle of the back “6”. An inverted MeiGray patch numbered B11556 sits on the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a "Worn During The 2nd Period - Retained By The NHLPA / Eastern Conference All-Star" example. A career defining season for St. Louis, he would be awarded the Hart, Art Ross and Lester B. Pearson trophies, along with a Stanley Cup in 2003-04. An LOA from the NHLPA will accompany.
