Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The 1992-93 season stands out as the year Marc Recchi solidified himself as an undeniable
force in the NHL. The year would mark his highest point total of 123 points (53 goals, 70
assists), an achievement that helped elevate him into the conversation of the league’s top stars.
A two-time Stanley Cup champion and one of the few players to record over 1,500 points in their
career, Recchi’s impact on the ice was undeniable. His ability to score and create plays over a
lengthy 22-season career has made him a legendary figure in the hockey world.
Exhibited here is a Koho Profibre stick that comes from Recchi’s historic 1992-93 campaign.
Game wear is visible throughout, with faded “RECCHI” printed on the top of the shaft.
The stick bears Recchi’s original tape job on both the knob and the blade. A bold,
well-preserved black marker signature is placed on the middle of the shaft. Toward the bottom of
the shaft, just before the blade, “RECCHI 11/26/92” is written in black marker, clearly dating the
stick to November 26, 1992. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
These sticks come from the personal collection of Lou Nolan, the legendary voice of the
Philadelphia Flyers. Nolan has been a fixture with the Flyers since the team’s inception in 1967,
starting as a press box assistant before becoming the team’s public address announcer in
1972—a role he’s held ever since. For over five decades, he has been calling plays for Flyers
hockey, his voice guiding us through some of the franchise’s most iconic moments. This of
course includes their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. These sticks,
personally gifted to Nolan by some of the NHL’s biggest legends, reflect the relationships he’s
built over his storied career and the trust and admiration he’s earned within the NHL community
