Concluding his HOF career with over 660 goals – the majority of which scored for the Los Angeles Kings, Luc Robitaille was presented with this milestone trophy after netting his 100th career goal, and it is accompanied by an attractive display commemorating the first flight of the Kings’ team travel plane. At approx 19” in height and featuring a generic player mounted over a fluted column atop a secondary marble base, metal plaques have been affixed to each base, with “Luc Robitaille” on the plaque above, and “Los Angeles Kings”, “100th Career Goal” and “October 6, 1988” on the plaque below. The airplane display is 6” in height and features a gold-coloured metal Boeing 727-100 jet mounted to a circular marble base with a metal plaque listing the particulars including “Los Angeles Kings – Inaugural Flight – March 30 1990”. Originating from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany.
The 100th goal trophy displays well, with a few breaks to the plastic visible including a repair to the top of the fluted column, with the hockey stick and blade also broken. There is additional wear throughout, with some chipping to each base. The inaugural flight display remains in beautiful condition, with some minor oxidation and spotting to the mounted plane.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
