Drafted by Atlanta in 2001 and making his NHL debut on Jan 30, 2004 vs Toronto, goaltender Pasi Nurminen first saw action in his native Finland with a few clubs including Jokerit, and spent parts of three seasons with the Thrashers before closing out his career in Sweden due to a knee injury. This photo-matched Thrashers jersey was worn by Nurminen during his final NHL season, where he backstopped the club in 64 games. Worn specifically from Jan 31, 2004 to March 6, 2004, which included the Feb 11, 2004 fight vs the Edmonton Oilers Ty Conklin, the jersey features “Goalie Style” labeling with “58” sizing, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Featuring a textured and multi-coloured Thrashers team crest, the V-neck sweater has been embellished with “31” sewn to the sleeves and verso in stylized dual-colour tackle twill, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The Thrashers “Fifth Season” patch resides over the right breast, and Dan Snyder crest to the front left shoulder. Showing great game-use with puck marks to the front and sleeves along with red paint transfer to each lower sleeve, there is also a large team repair directly beneath the team crest. Getty Image #53084851 (Feb 27, 2004) has been matched to the large team repair directly beneath the team crest, while Getty Image #50919173 (March 9, 2004) has been matched to the large team repair directly beneath the team crest, with the dark marks directly to the left of the repair also visible. A MeiGray crest numbered “B004912” is affixed to the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a “White 2nd Regular Season” specimen. A team/MeiGray LOA will accompany.
