Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

This glittering and nicely preserved Prince of Wales Trophy commemorates Tampa Bay’s 2004 Eastern Conference final win over Philadelphia. The Lightning drew first blood and alternated wins with the Flyers before closing out the hard-fought series with a 2-1 win in Game 7. This trophy was presented to Lightning trainer Jim Pickard, whose name and that of the trophy appear on a plaque on the front of the wood base. "NHL Champions – Tampa Bay Lightning – 2003-04” reads a plaque on the back. Silver-plated cup is supported by four hockey sticks which rise up from the base, whose brown felt bottom has the Boffey manufacturer’s sticker affixed. Comes with a copy of an LOA as well as a COA from Upper Deck.
The Upper Deck COA mistakenly indicates the wrong year for the trophy (should be 2003-04 instead of 2004-05). The trophy was won as a redeemable prize in one of their hockey card releases a few years ago.
