Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

A product of the University of Minnesota, Reed Larson spent considerable time with the Detroit Red Wings, with later seasons spent with Minnesota, Edmonton and Boston, while also representing the US internationally at both the World Championships and Canada Cup. We have a photo-matched Bruins jersey worn by the Minneapolis native in 1986-87, where he appeared in 66 games. A partially-detached Maska label and “86” born-on date tag are affixed to the collar, with the sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Styled with the iconic spoked-B team crest fully administered in tackle twill, “28” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with alternate logos over each shoulder. The dual-clasp style fight strap is intact, with an LOA and COR from MeiGray to accompany.
Heavy use is immediately apparent, with wear to the team crest and numerous marks over each sleeve. There is a large slit through the first layer of material on the left elbow, with a bit of paint transfer over each sleeve. Team repairs are also abundant - evidence of prolonged use, with a dozen over the right sleeve, seven over the left, with single examples over the left shoulder seam, upper chest and lower front striping band. The reverse collar has also been torn and repaired, with some rusting to the fight strap clasps and pilling to the interior. Getty Images #900377382 and #900377388 from Nov 26th 1986 have been matched to the black mark in the middle of the team crest, in the upper portion of the "B".
