Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
From their time in the WHA during the mid-1970s, circa 1975-76, we have a Cincinnati Stingers 10K gold team ring that was presented to 1975 New York Rangers draft selection, Claude Larose. Size 9 ½” with an approx. weight of 25 grams, a Stingers logo sits inserted within a yellow stone, with “Cincinnati Stingers” and “WHA” encompassing. The left shank features a generic player with “L.Wing” and “8”, while the right features the same generic player with “Larose” and “8”. The inner band has “Jostens 10K” engraved. We should note that the ring differs slightly from the previous Stingers ring we sold, with a yellowish stone over the tableau as opposed to red, with the small banners over the shanks having no year engraved, whereas the previous example had “1975-76” over the left shank.
Moderate to heavier wear from use is present along both the inner and outer band with visible scratches, with additional light wear/rubbing to the shanks. There is also dirt within grooves, with the ring in need of a thorough cleaning.
