Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Despite seeing regular NHL action since 2010, the 2017-18 campaign marked only the third time in his career that netminder Jonathan Bernier witnessed any playoff contests, when his Colorado Avalanche met the Nashville Predators in the first round. We have a pair of goal pads worn by the Laval native during these playoffs, and they’ve been both signed and photo-matched. CCM Lefevre Extreme Flex III models in Aves colours with “Bernier” embroidered into each, nice use is exhibited, with each sporting black puck marks, with some minor red discolouration within each interior section. Bernier has signed each pad in blue marker over the inside calf guards, with his signed LOA to accompany.
The left pad has been initialed in black marker by Kay Whitmore along with “3-8” handwritten, with the former netminder serving in his capacity as the NHL's senior director of hockey operations and goaltender equipment. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty Image #947932994 from April 14th 2018 (Western Conference First Round) has been matched to a number of marks on both pads.
