Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Formed in 1991 and originally known as the Colonial Hockey League, the United Hockey League consisted of both American and Canadian clubs, with most teams joining the CHL upon the UHL’s folding in 2010. We have a framed UHL Eastern All-Star Classic jersey, with this example augmented by a signature from the one and only Wayne Gretzky. Produced by Athletic Knit with an “XL” size tag affixed to the collar, the red, white and blue jersey feature’s an attractive team crest, with a “2000 All-Star Classic” patch over the right breast. Wayne’s familiar “99” appears in dual-colour tackle twill over each sleeve, with The Great One signing in black marker over the Canadian flag, with just the beginning of the signature somewhat light. Noted Gretzky collector Shawn Chaulk examined the signature, and has given his approval. Double-matted with a plaque listing the particulars, the attractive display has been framed to full dimensions of approx. 37 ¾” x 44 ¾”.
