Cool grouping of Habs sticks features All-Star defenseman Andrei Markov’s signed Team Russia 2010 Olympics game-used stick, HOFer Mark Recchi’s signed game-used stick, two-time 50-goal scorer Stephane Richer’s signed game-used stick, Donald Audette’s pre-Canadiens game-used stick with a dedicated autograph, and Benoit Brunet’s signed game-issued stick.
HOFer Mark Recchi signed in bold marker at the bottom of the front of the shaft, just above the heel, on his Canadien 7001 game-used stick. The last part of the “Recchi” factory stamp high on the front of the shaft is partially covered by Mark’s original white tape job on the knob, which has his number “8” handwritten in black marker on the front. Recchi’s orginal tape job on the blade has nice wear along the bottom edge and more game use shows in black marks low on the shaft and chips to the paint job.
Andrei Markov’s Team Russia 2010 Olympics signed game-used stick features his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. Markov signed in silver paint pen on his black tape job that covers the toe and most of the blade, and displays a couple of puck gouges. More game wear includes marks on the shaft and a missing portion of the outer graphics wrap low on the back of the shaft. “Markov” and “79” in factory graphics are printed high on the shaft below the All-Star defenseman’s distinctive and long tape job on the knob that features a well-worn outer wrap of red gauze tape. Markov’s signed game-used stick comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
“Richer 44” is factory-stamped high on the front of the shaft of two-time 50-goal scorer Stephane Richer’s Chimo G.L.M. 999 Glas-Lite game-used stick. Richer’s orginal tape jobs are on the knob and blade, which has worn through along most of the bottom edge. “999.0203” and “Montreal” are stamped low on the back of the shaft. There is red goalpost paint transfer high on the shaft, both on and between Richer’s distinctive rows of tape on the knob, and the top and bottom sides of the middle of the shaft are blackened.
“D. Audette” is factory-stamped high on the shaft of Donald Audette’s circa mid-to-late 1990s signed Titan TPM 2020 game-used stick. “To Mike, Don Audette 28” reads the bold black marker autograph low on the shaft. There is a date stamp on the back of the lower shaft that partially reads “5 Dec” but the year is not discernible. Audette’s original tape jobs are on the knob and blade of this gamer that predates his stint with the Canadiens.
Benoit Brunet signed in bold blue marker on the bare blade of his Sher-Wood PMP7000 game-issued stick with “Brunet 17” stamped on the shaft.
