Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
An interesting group of vintage hockey publications totaling 7, we have a pair of Leafs programs from the 1940s including an example from Rocket Richard’s rookie campaign of 1942-43 (he’s listed on the intact center line-up page as wearing #15), a Buckingham Hockey Parade Maple Leafs booklet from 1934 and a copy of the Canada Starch booklet “How to Become a Hockey Star” from 1935. We also have three additional guides all accompanied by their original mailing envelopes including Ted Reeve’s Hockey Guide from 1936-37, General Motors Hockey Broadcast Guide from 1934-35 and a copy of the St Lawrence Starch Company’s Who’s Who in the National Hockey League from 1936-37. The Leafs programs both show heavy wear with creases, toning, edge tears and spine damage, with both having rusted staples. All five guides exhibit just very light handling wear, with the odd small crease or corner ding, with the accompanying envelopes showing heavier wear with tears to the example that originally housed the Ted Reeve’s Guide. Each guide also sports a small pencil notation over the inside cover or first page from a previous seller.
