Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Hobbyists of a certain age will recall, at the sight of this eye-catching scarcity, separating little mini cards, licking the backs and affixing them in mini-card albums, with the inserts included in 1969-70 Series 2 packs. Lengthy perusing of this mesmerizing blank-backed (no adhesive) uncut sheet, (with no perforations), has led to the discovery that if the first two vertical rows were not present, the sheet could be cut into six complete 18-card sets. For instance, the bottom right corner of six vertical rows of three cards each constitutes a complete set, with the six rows above featuring another set. Measuring approximately 28-1/2” by 43”, the sheet exhibits creasing, much of it the lighter variety, with the heaviest/most noticeable in the lower left edge/corner region. We also spot some poor registration (blurred images), mostly in the upper left quadrant, while faint red ink from the fronts of regular cards is detected inverted above many of the four-card ensembles. Weird, wild stuff!
